TTC continues to improve safety on Welsh roads after driver rehabilitation training win
Placing the Welsh language even further at the heart of delivery is one of the key promises by TTC Group after it was awarded the contract to deliver driver education courses for Gwent, South Wales and North Wales Police.
The experts in improving road safety and driver performance will continue its relationship with the three forces for a further four years, providing training and awareness programmes under the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS).
This will involve delivering National Speed Awareness, Safe and Considerate Driving, Rider Intervention and Development Experience, ‘What’s Driving Us?’ and National Motorway Awareness courses across strategically selected venues across Wales.
Following the introduction of two Welsh Language Co-ordinators in 2018, TTC Group continues to recruit even more Welsh speaking trainers to add to its expert team of experienced trainers.
The aim is to ensure people participating in the courses will have the chance to complete the training in Welsh at a venue and time slot of their choice, including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
He continued: “Venues have also been chosen to support local businesses and community projects, whilst also ensuring participation is as accessible as possible. Our online system is robust and efficient to make bookings simple and easy to complete in both languages.
He continued: “All of the five courses we deliver have been designed to educate motorists so they become better drivers and reduce the number of casualties in the region.
“Significant work has also gone into making sure the content is engaging and our 25-strong team of trainers all have extensive experience and a track record of supporting individuals in a way that gets results. All of this has helped us secure 99% client satisfaction rate for our work with Police forces.”
TTC Group delivers NDORS courses on behalf of 14 Police forces throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
In addition to meeting quality and accessibility commitments, the company has also invested heavily in delivering strong social and environmental value.
This involves utilising its knowledge, skills and experience to provide practical support, employee volunteering and sponsorship for a diverse range of local charities and community projects.
Sharon Haynes, Director of TTC Group, concluded: “It’s all about NDORS making a positive difference, whether that is by creating safer motorists or by addressing key social issues in the areas we operate in.
“We have been working in Wales since 2009 and this latest contract award will take us through to 2024. In addition to the driving training programme, we have also successfully introduced The Alcohol Diversion Programme commissioned by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent.”
