TTC Group employees continue to take part in fundraising initiatives to help support those less advantaged in society this winter.
Even though typical fundraising has been made somewhat more challenging during the current pandemic, TTC staff have continued to fundraise for nominated charities.
One such fundraising initiative saw Philippa Davies (pictured) win our Worst Christmas Jumper competition as part of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day 2020, which raised an impressive £157 donation. Philippa’s up-cycling skills were most impressive, adding extra bling to an already barking mad festive jumper.
Each charity that TTC Group supports is selected by our caring team, supporting initiatives that are close to their own hearts. Even before the Covid-19 hit, four million children lived in poverty in the UK. The outbreak has illuminated the underlying fragility of welfare provision and household budgets and put more families on the brink of poverty.
In the UK children face food poverty, a lack of essential items and learning opportunities, increased stress and sometimes limited or no access to IT equipment or the internet. When Covid-19 struck thousands more British families faced the prospect of poverty. Save the Children UK launched initiatives to help those feeling the economic effects of the crisis more acutely, something which TTC Group are proud to support.
Instead of handling cash and to help those working remotely to participate, all fundraising contributions were gathered electronically through the Just Giving platform, another area where technology has helped everyone continue to work together whilst maintaining social distance.
This recent fundraising supports our organisation’s commitment to supporting communities through fundraising, charitable donations, and volunteering, which also saw TTC Group support Age Concern UK, Let’s Feed Brum homeless support charity and other community-based charities offering foodbanks and mental wellbeing support for local residents.
