TTC Group has made significant strides in enhancing its Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance (ESG) during the past 12 months to bolster its corporate credentials in support of its burgeoning operations portfolio.
Working in partnership with an ESG specialist, via private equity investors Palatine, TTC Group has created two, key annual reports to demonstrate its focus on what it classes as a ‘business critical’ area.
In its first report and assessment, TTC Group was recognised with ‘Trailblazer Status’ for how it recruits, engages and manages its national trainer panel for its National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) course delivery.
In October 2020, TTC Group was awarded the ‘Excellence in ESG 2020’ award as part of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) Summit 2020 event. The Responsible Investment Awards are Europe’s only awards that recognise and celebrate outstanding ESG practices within private equity and venture capital. TTC Group was recognised for its “commitment to utilising Palatine’s six sustainability pillars” and having “adopted a holistic approach to ESG”.
Matt Jewkes, Business Development Manager, TTC Group (pictured) explained:
“In October 2019, we received an ESG Award from Palatine PE recognising our progress and how ESG has been embedded within the fabric of our organisation.
“It’s an ongoing journey and is only likely to become increasingly important and of value to us as a business in the future.”
“ESG plays a significant role of our ability to win and retain Public Sector and Police Force contracts. The best example of this is when we successfully retained the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) contract with West Midlands Police, where our Social Value method statement and commitments formed an essential element of the overall tender evaluation and score.”
Matt Jewkes, Senior Business Development Manager,TTC
As part of this West Midlands Police NDORS contract, TTC are committed to managing and tracking its social Value performance on a quarterly basis through a dedicated online portal. As part of its social Value commitments to this contract, last year saw TTC Group donate:
200% of its contractual committed annual donation value to Age Concern UK for its “The Gift of Christmas” campaign for Sandwell and Birmingham
200% of our contractual committed annual donation value to the West Midlands-based homeless support charity Let’s Feed Brum
200% of our contractual committed annual donation value to the All-Saints Action Network (ASAN)
Sharon Haynes, TTC Group Client Services Director explained: “2020 has been a very challenging time for the charity sector. TTC’s social value awareness is much more than contractual commitments and recognising that there are many vulnerable people that find December a difficult time, especially as the cold weather sets in, I really wanted to give something back to West Midlands communities.”
In addition to the above, during 2020 TTC Group also:
TTC Group subsidiary, Licence Bureau actively supported BRAKE’s Road Safety Week by delivering sessions for sixth form students at a Hemel Hempstead school
Funded the service costs and purchased a replacement battery pack for a community Heart Start defibrillator, it originally installed and offered training in 2016
Matt said: “Recent times have proved to be a challenge across all walks of life and we have adapted our approach to ESG accordingly. In many ways this whole period has served to reiterate just how important having a robust ESG process in place is in order to support the business in general, its people and local communities.”
